` keagan mark daniels ,, i'm just a cross hair - i'm just a shot away from you. & if you leave here, you leave me broken, shattered, alive. i'm just a cross hair, i'm just a shot, & then we can die. keagan sighed as he sat out there. he knew he was the one fully responsible for everything that happened inside just now, but he couldn't help it. it was rather frustrating for him. he knew how badly she wanted it, but he wasn't ready to compromise with her on that one. he took another drag of his marlboro, looking at it suspiciously after he tore it out of his lips. he blew the smoke out to the side, as he noted someone had walked out the front door of the restaurant. it soon occurred to him that the someone was charlie, but he tried not to dwell on that too much. she sat next to him and they remained silent a bit longer, as he continued puffing on his cigarette. in no time at all, she spoke his name, punctuating it questioningly. he grunted softly as his acknowledgement, taking another puff. he took to blowing the smoke away from charlie again, sighing as he lowered his head between his knees. he switched the cigarette between his hands, so it was away from her. whether she liked smoking or not, he was still considerate about it, since after all, he didn't want her to die of second-hand smoke. then she said she loved him, and he looked over at her, nodding. "i love you too, charlie
," he replied, sighing a little once again, rubbing his face in his hands. " i'm just not ready for kids yet. my mom didn't even think i was ready for marriage. i'm twenty-two, charlie... we have forever to have kids, okay?" he tried to reason with her. god, he felt really bad right now.[/blockquote][/blockquote]

charlie couldn't help but feel a bit awkward for the first few silent moments as she waited for him to actually speak. "mm. fine. but i don't wanna be old when we have kids." that had to be one of her fears, really. she didn't take too kindly to being old and having children. and adoption was something she wouldn't do unless it was her only option. now, she wasn't anti-adoption, like said. but she just wouldn't feel right since it wasn't actually their blood. sighing loudly, she looked at him and then back toward the entrance of the restaurant. of course, she was able to remember very vividly what she had said. sure, it wasn't really bad. but it was hurtful. or at least if it had been said to her, she would have said it was out of line.
"sorry." a sly smirk started replacing her rather sad features. maybe if she tried to bring in a new mood rather than the awkwardly sad one that was lingering, she wouldn't have to feel so awful. "i was out of line. but i promise i'll make it up. promise." charlie stated, trying to emphasize the fact that she'd make sure of it. the mood he was now in was devestating. and knowing that she had been the one to make him so down didn't help her own mood. but she was trying to keep it light. that was probably the easiest thing. keeping it light and at least letting him know it wasn't his fault. maybe she hadn't been right to actually bring up the subject of kids or even something close.
she looked back to the restaurant and sighed, placing her hands in her lap, "well, there's one place i won't ever be able to show my face in again." she chuckled, staring back down and folding her arms across her chest. "i'm going back to the car. i'll just eat some more fruit at home when we get there. that alright with you?" she asked keagan with a sincere smile. she then jumped up from the bench and started walking toward their car. she could have cared less really if paparazzi spotted her alone and decided to swarm her. but thankfully she was undetected. even though they hadn't seen the argument inside, she was sure someone would start gossiping about it and it would get out soon enough. unlocking the car with her own set of keys, she simply slid into the passenger side and shut the door quickly. she hadn't wanted to rush him or make him feel like he had to hurry and eat. at least she could collect her thoughts without being stared at or feeling awful when she was alone.

` keagan mark daniels ,, i'm just a cross hair - i'm just a shot away from you. & if you leave here, you leave me broken, shattered, alive. i'm just a cross hair, i'm just a shot, & then we can die. "okay. so how about this: when i turn twenty-five, that very same night, we will honestly start from that day on to try and have a kid
?" aw, see, keagan does care about what charlie wants. but he's bargaining here for another three years before they can have babies. by then, he figures he'll be old and washed up in the music industry ( though we all know how rare that is these days ) and he'll be able to really settle down with charlie. he just doesn't want what he doesn't feel is unjust for him. after all, marriages consist of sacrifices, commitments, and compromising. he smirked as she stressed promise, and couldn't help but laugh just a little bit. " well as long as you promise, i suppose i'll have to accept," he replied jokingly, a goofy smile on his face as he said so. he couldn't be mad at his charlie! at least not for too long, anyways. he loved the girl way too much to get upset with her. he laughed at her next notion and shrugged a little. " eh, well that's alright. there's more of these places... somewhere out there," keagan said, dismissing the subject as he puffed on his cigarette and stood up. with the cigarette hanging limply between his lips, she brushed off his jeans and held his hand out to charlie to help her up off the ground. " we'll order in something. fruit's not filling," he commented, handing her the car keys so she can go to the car and wait for him. " meet you in the car, okay? i gotta pay for the food there on the table..." after she took the keys he went back into the restaurant. the main lobby area was a smoking allowed area, oddly. he paid their dues before going back to the car. he was quick to climb in the car, and before he started it up and everything, he finished his cigarette before diminishing the embers by pushing the end of the cigarette into the ashes of the ash tray in the car. it was then he got the keys from charlie, he buckled up, and he started up the car, driving out of the lot and back to the house.[/blockquote][/blockquote]

”no. no. twenty-four and a half.” she ribbed, but of course the fact she was okay with his deal was showing in her eyes. ”deal, keagan. but the second it hits your twenty-fifth birthday? i’m waking you up. i don’t care if it’s midnight.” the jokes continued before she looked down for a mere second, amused. at least she knew how long she’d have to wait, that made everything a bit easier for her. but that wasn’t even what was amusing her at the moment. it happened to be how quickly they had made up. but then again, it wasn’t surprising for charlie -- just as quickly as she would make a fault and knew she angered him, she tried to make up. she was usually carefree until she knew he was upset. that’s usually when she began to worry.
as soon as she had the chance to the car, she didn’t waste time on leaving him to pay the bill. when he had come back, she just grinned at him without really saying anything more than a few words, ”thanks, hon, by the way. even though i barely ate and we had an argument, thanks.” it was a genuine thanks, despite how it could have sounded so sarcastic if she wasn’t careful. but she hadn’t been expecting to eat out even with the food shortage. she could have just as easily went shopping to get some things to cook.
she hadn’t said much on the way back to their house. in fact, if anything, she had just stared outside the window in thought. occasionally she’d let her head turn and eyes focus on him with a bit of curiosity. but that was all it was -- just curiosity about what he was wondering. but when they had arrived, she climbed out of the car quickly and looked towards him. ”sooo. what time is it?” charlie asked. she probably should have paid attention to the clock in the car, but she had been in a hurry to get out and wasn’t exactly thinking at all. she had waited for an answer, hands on her hips as she eyed him curiously again.
