+OUTFIT four pm and angie had already left school hours ago. if you guess that she skipped out halfway through the day? you'd be wrong. she had been there until a little into gym. but that's when she had to get home. and i bet you're wondering why. well. we all know the story of how angie can make any and all freak accidents possible. this was the situation. she had actually been sitting p.e. out due to feeling a bit sick and all. and she was finishing a project. now. this is where you can start to piece parts together. she had a pair of scissors and was cutting away at a piece of paper. someone had shoved into her enough to make her neatly slice her palm open.
now. we're not talking of 'ohmygosh, she's gonna die from bleeding' kind of cut. but one that she'd need to go to the nurse. and then the nurse would state it's pretty deep and that she needs to go to the doctor. okay, so while it wasn't that vicious, she wanted to get home. it had all been pretty embarassing. and on top of that, there was blood all over her hand. ick ick. so she had went home without even telling brett that she was leaving. or notifying him somehow. she was hoping this wouldn't make him worry. because it wasn't that bad. in fact, at the time she had finally stepped inside her home, it was just seeming to be sore as long as it wasn't being touched. the gauze around her hand had been painted a light bloody color. she'd have to rewrap it soon or something.
yeah. that'd be fun to see just how deep the cut got. hopefully she wouldn't faint. but she wasn't planning on rewrapping it until she actually had to cook. although if it seemed a bit unhealthy at the time, she'd probably call somewhere to eat. her dad wasn't home. he was probably off somewhere. and she wasn't really one to nose around. so she had promptly ran to her bedroom to put her stuff up and start on homework until brett arrived. was it safe for angie to assume he'd just come over after her disappearing like that? probably. she had even left the door unlocked.

okay, so brett was just getting a bit paranoid, right? after all, he’d been waiting for angie to show for ages and she hadn’t shown, so maybe she’d forgotten he waited for her? but he did it every day, so that most likely wasn’t the case. maybe she’d had lots of homework to do and had to rush home? she would’ve told him though, surely. brett frowned and shook his head, biting his lip as he glanced around for the umpteenth time. angie had never – unless she was sick – not met up with him without telling him first. it was just weird, that’s all. he was sure everything was fine, but his mind was playing little tricks on him, telling him stuff he didn’t want to hear.
he gave up after a while and made his way out the car park, striding quickly over to his car, leaning against the side and looking around for angie’s truck. okay, no truck in sight. and she’d come in her truck this morning, because he’d seen it there, parked in the space opposite his car. so she must have gone home, then. his brow furrowed, as he tried to think of a reason as to why she had gone home and not told him first. he shook his head and slowly opened his door, getting in the seat and biting his lip, staring hard at the steering wheel as he tapped his fingers gently on the edges. he was debating whether he should go to angie’s. normally, there wouldn’t be any doubts about going and he’d go as soon as he was free after school, but if she’d left without him, maybe she didn’t want to see him tonight?
it could be likely. they saw each other every day, maybe she was getting fed up with him. he snorted at himself, though the snort was humorless as he considered the possibility. i mean, it was totally fair if she was getting annoyed with seeing him all the time, she had other friends as well, obviously. maybe she’d gone to see vincent? angie knew brett didn’t really like vincent, so maybe she didn’t want to tell him in case he got angry or upset? brett’s teeth clenched a little as he thought of that, but he knew he was being unreasonable. just because vincent liked angie, brett didn’t have to hate him, right? because if angie wanted to be with vincent she’d be with him and not brett. though vincent could still be her friend, no harm in that. brett knew this, but he couldn’t get the nagging doubt out of his mind that vincent always wanted something more. but he shoved that thought aside and started the car, driving at his normal fast paced speed from the parking lot, until he reached angie’s drive way.
he stepped out of the car, closing the door as quietly as possible. her truck was here, so she wasn’t visiting vincent, unless he was here. brett’s teeth clenched again, but he breathed in deeply and strode up to her front door, pressing a finger to the cold, metal doorbell that was beside it. he hoped he wasn’t wrong in coming here, though if angie didn’t want him, she’d send him away. fair enough. but panic over, as she was at home.

the familiar ring of the doorbell had done enough to get angie's attention and she had looked up from what she had began to preoccupy herself with. she knew very well who it was and began to get up to her feet swiftly. from there she allowed her feet to lightly hit the floor until she was to the door. and the first thing she had done before opening it was to hide her injured hand behind her back. he probably wouldn't put it past her to get hurt after knowing her so long. but she just was never in the mood to be lectured. honestly. who got hurt by scissors when they're not even running with them? angie. that's who would be hurt.
so swiftly running her hand through her hair to make sure she was presentable, she opened the door for him with a wide smile to accompany it. "about time you got here. sorry i left so quickly." oh. she'd have to explain to him why she left, probably. that hadn't crossed the junior's mind. so she cleared her throat and then held up her wrapped hand. "scissors." that was probably all she would need to say before he would understand what all went down. "someone bumped into me while i was cutting out things for a presentation." she wasn't brave enough to unwrap it yet to show the damage that had been done to her small hand. all she knew was at the time it had all been done, she was nearly in tears and the blood had made her sick to her stomach.
but she then put her hand back down and started into the house, waiting to see if he'd follow. it was evident she hadn't done much since she even came into the house. the only door that was open was her own bedroom door. "we could watch a movie if you'd like." like that was going to keep the lecture away. but it would give them something to do, right? it came out of the blue, but that was the first idea in her mind right now. anything. anything to keep her hand from being the topic of conversation. and anything to keep her from doing her schoolwork, no?

brett waited for angie to answer the door, self-consciously running a hand through his hair to make sure it was all in the right place, not messy looking, or anything of the like. then he heard footsteps inside the house, and he could immediately tell by the step rhythm that they were angie’s feet shuffling along the ground. he smiled to himself briefly, and that’s when the door opened and a seemingly happy angie answered the door. he chuckled at her first comment, before checking his watch and realizing it was late. he must have been standing around waiting for a while. he’d have to talk about that with her, if she didn’t get there first, that is.
which it seemed she would, as she held up a bandaged hand. brett immediately frowned and wondered why she hadn’t come to him or something about it, gotten it seen to properly. though that was probably why she didn’t come see him. because she didn’t want it seen to properly. that made him frown even more, because as red as the bandage was, she must have been cut pretty badly. and then she muttered one word, and it was enough for brett to understand. of course she’d sliced her hand with scissors. it was a typical angie thing to do. not that he liked it when she did it any time, but he had gotten used to it. then she said how it had happened, and if possible, brett’s frown deepened a little more. so someone else had done this to angie, technically? he could feel that protective side taking over, wanting to find out who this person was and hurt them. but angie wouldn’t like if he did that, and neither would brett, to be honest. he wasn’t that vicious a person.
he followed her inside the house, shutting the door behind him and getting ready to prepare a lecture. he realized he’d been silent the whole time so far, thinking over things so much he hadn’t been able to find his voice. he followed angie through to the living room, eyeing her hand up the whole way. and then she suggested a movie, and brett nodded. ”sure, a movie sounds good” he smiled, though it didn’t quite reach his eyes. he knew what she was trying to prevent. and he didn’t like seeing her hurt, so if she thought a movie would take his attention away from her hand, she was wrong. very wrong, indeed. she knew him better then that.

phew. it hadn't come up yet. she didn't know exactly what the whole speech would be about when it came to dangers and being around scissors. but she wasn't putting too much hope that it'd seriously just be brushed off like that. yet there was that light of hope it wouldn't be brought up at all. so at him agreeing with movies, she attempted to keep the subject off by not talking about it. and instead asking about what movies they could watch together. stepping into the living room, she had went toward the tapes and went right to looking through them slowly to waste time.
there were quite a few. and of course they were all older movies. all due to how angie didn't have too much money. and so she could only afford VCR tapes. she began naming off movies as she went through them, occasionally looking back to see if he'd want to watch it or not, "um. thirteen ghosts? the nightmare before christmas. shrek." she stopped, tapping a few of the cases. she wasn't sure which he would like and which he wouldn't so that's why she was giving the choice. lifting up a hand she waved him over so he could look into the movies and choose something himself and hopped up to her feet.
"just choose something and put it in. i'm going to go put some popcorn in the microwave." angie explained. that was just another chance to get away from the lecture. or buy her time, more or less. she really wouldn't have minded it. but she knew basically what was going to be said. and she knew that brett worried a tad too much. and it did bother her. but at the same time it made her feel just a bit better. better because she knew he cared and she wouldn't have anything happen to her. as long as she didn't do it herself. "so how was your day? after i left, that is." angie had called out to make some kind of casual conversation.

brett followed her slowly into the living room, thinking hard in his head how to approach the subject of her hand and lecture her without seeming mean. after all, it was only for her good that he did lecture her. he dreaded to think what might happen if she didn’t have someone to look after her for most of the day. so his lectures were helpful, no matter whether she liked them or not. she was going to get them anyway, and she may as well just deal with it. he watched her go to the tapes, still eyeing up her bandaged hand when he got the chance. he pulled a face when her back was turned. he couldn’t bring it up when they were watching a movie, right? maybe afterwards. or before. but he was going to say something, before or after the movie, during the movie, whenever. he was definitely going to mention it.
he listened as she reeled off her movies, nodding and shaking his head to each one, depending on whether he wanted to watch it or not. she waved him over so he obeyed, walking over to her side and looking at all her movies. he ran his finger briefly across the spines of all the cases, scanning quickly over the names as he did so. there were a few here he’d seen recently, and a few he’d already watched with angie a million times – romeo and juliet was one of those. he skipped past that one easily, then moved onto the ones she’d called out. he paused for a moment before removing thirteen ghosts from the shelf and then removing the video from its case, before slotting it into the VCR player just under the television.
angie had gone to put on some popcorn by this time and he made his way over to the couch, settling himself quickly. angie’s house was like a second home to him – he was here almost all the time, that’s why. so he had no doubts about sitting on her couch, or examining her pictures. he hadn’t told angie he’d looked at those, though. she’d only get angry at him. a smug smirk placed itself on his lips before he frowned again, his mind bracing the subject of her hand. he frowned, frustrated. if she could stop herself bringing it up, then why could he not stop thinking about it? he didn’t like it, that’s why. he was worried, obviously. when he was about to reply to himself in his mind, angie saved him from starting an argument with himself. ”my day has been .. alright” he nodded, sighing. ”though i was worried about where you’d gone at the end of the day, because i was waiting for ages” he admitted, entering the no-go zone and getting ready to question and lecture her about her hand.

there it was. the topic that angie had been trying so hard to keep off. but it wasn't that bad. i mean, it could have been worse. and she wasn't going to play it off no longer, because he probably wouldn't give up, now would he? so she simply said what she could to keep the mood from becoming worse. "well. brett. you don't have to wait around for me forever, obviously. i just got a simple cut, and had to get it looked at and leave. nothing big. just don't worry about it." she said slowly, looking at him and trying to think about what she was going to say.
don't worry about it? angie mentally shook her head at what she had said. she was talking to brett. he worried about everything. "if i need help, brett... i'll let you know. it's nice you care and all, but some things aren't as urgent as they seem." she held up her wrapped hand to show him, but frowned when she actually seen how red the bandage was. then a silence ensued from her that the only comforting noise was the popping from the popcorn in the microwave. 'it's not as bad as it was.' she thought, keeping her back to him and starting to unwrap the cut.
a quick glance, that's all she'd do. she was liable to become sick if she stared too much at once. holding the bandage in her hand, she felt the air hit her cut and winced. it didn't feel too good. back still to him, she just glanced at her hand for about two seconds and looked away, feeling all color drain from her face. that wasn't the most appealing cut she had seen. it didn't look infected, but it was still pretty big in her opinion. a lot worse than what she had at first thought. and it made her feel sick. "mm. yeah. not bad. i just looked at it." she muttered quietly, mostly to him as she began to try and wrap it, which proved to be a pretty hard feat in itself. but she wasn't willing to ask for his help and allow him to see it.

brett bit his lip as he waited for angie to reply to his last comment, re-thinking over what’d he’d said and wondering whether he should have approached it differently. well, it was going to come up some time, right? inevitably. honestly, could she really think he was going to miss something like that? he shook his head to himself, before angie spoke. he raised his eyebrows slowly at her comment until he couldn’t raise them anymore, looking at her like she insane. ”small cut?” he repeated, looking at her hand, which was covered in a swollen, red bandage. ”sure looks that way” he muttered, looking away and scratching the back of his head. he didn’t like disagreeing with angie – yes, it happened a lot but that’s not the point – she had hurt herself, and he was her boyfriend. so obviously he was going to care.
then he heard her tell him not to worry about it and snorted, shaking his head. he was brett, it was inevitable for him to worry about it. he worried about everything, the poor boy. he didn’t get a moments peace without something or other on his mind, usually anyway. he then frowned at what she had said next. he didn’t want to wait for her to tell him she needed him – it wasn’t his nature. if he thought she needed help, he’d help her anyway. because it was what he did. he cared. was that so much of a crime now? his frown deepened as he replied ”not urgent, right. i don’t like seeing you … like that” he gestured to her hand, sitting up on the couch slightly. ”and i don’t … want to wait for you to tell me you want help ” he added, looking at her and pursuing his lips. ”because that’s not what i do” he finished, running a hand through his hair.
he saw her turn away from him and frowned again, knowing she was going to look at the cut. and he knew perfectly well what that would do to her, so she obviously wouldn’t get a very good look at it. that would be his excuse, anyway. he’d have to check it for her, because she can’t do it herself. he was watching the back of her head, the corners of his lips turned down slightly. he saw her glance at it for maybe a second, pushing two if he was lucky, and then look away. he could see her going pale from here – paler than she normally was, anyway. he knew that wasn’t a good sign. then she muttered that she’d looked at it and brett raised his eyebrows again, shaking his head. ”i’d hardly call that looking” he disagreed quietly. he knew he’d probably make her angry or upset, but the basis was, he didn’t like seeing her hurt. and she’d have to deal with that sooner or later.

it was only like angie to try and get attention away from her hand or even away from her in general. especially in this case. the only way that she wouldn't have minded all this would be in an alternate universe. and that's certainly not happening anytime soon. so she just looked at him and sighed. "it's just nothing major. if it was, i'd be in the hospital." she glanced to the bandage, and felt herself go pale again. it probably looked worse than it was, no doubt. so she just took the bandage and went right to throwing it away. there was probably a first aid kit or gauze or something around the house somewhere, she'd go looking for it just as soon as she was finished with him for the moment. "just. please. everything's said and done, brett." she chewed on her bottom lip for only a small moment, the popcorn popping only filling the silence. she had sworn for a moment there she could hear herself breathing, too, she was thinking so hard.
"it's just sore, brett. i'll get it wrapped in some new bandages and it'll be okay. most of that blood's probably from earlier. and i don't think i need help." lies. those were all lies. except for the blood part, but she wasn't sure if it was from earlier or if the wound was still bleeding. she hadn't really looked at the cut. but she knew she'd need help wrapping it. "what? am i supposed to stare it down? you know i can't look at blood." her voice had raised only a little, to show that she was becoming ever so slightly annoyed. once again, he was right about everything. but she wasn't willing to admit yet. so at that moment she had exited the room to go look for bandages or anything, really.
the first place she had wandered into was the bathroom. and moving things around and looking around, angie had pulled out a container that read 'first aid kit' in big red letters. brushing some of the dust off with her hand, she had then opened it and began scrimmaging through it. despite her own clumsy-ness she had never really had to go through this first aid kit and use anything out of it because of how she even forgot it existed. pulling out what she needed, she put the case away and turned on the water to at least wash some of the blood away. slipping her hand underneath the running water, she looked to the door to see if brett was anywhere near and to also keep her eyes off the blood. after only a mere minute, she turned off the water and then grabbed the bandage, walking out of the bathroom and back towards brett.
"okay. i need help with wrapping it. so can you, please?" angie stated, looking down at the cut real quick. it wasn't as bad as it had been, and she apparently wasn't getting sick. in fact, she believed it wasn't even bleeding that bad. but her eyes once again looked back up to him, not being able to stare down at the cut and deciding to concentrate on just getting it wrapped. "here." she smiled, actually feeling bad for even raising her voice at him. she didn't want to make him angry at her after worrying him.

when angie looked at him and sighed, brett rolled his eyes. she always downplayed things and although he knew what he was doing was probably a bit harsh, he was protective and he was caring and so he wasn’t going to downplay this, at all. then she said it was nothing major and he looked pointedly at her hand, the blood soaked bandage surrounding it. then she said about everything being said and done and he frowned. he didn’t like brushing things to the side, especially pain. although he was being a bit of a hypocrite. he wouldn’t want to worry her if he was in pain, so he could sort of see where she was coming from. but still. he was supposed to be the stronger one, and she was supposed to come to him for comfort. that was how it worked, right?
they were kinda new to this sort of scene, both of them. but that’s what he figured it was meant to be like. he sighed at her next comment. ”what if it gets infected or you cut yourself even more when you try to bandage it yourself?” he said softly, frowning. he didn’t want that to happen, of course not, but he was merely proving a point. that it could totally happen and she’d be in even more pain. so she would be best asking him to help her. he could hear the popcorn popping away in the microwave, the awkward silence filling the air. then she said something else and he could tell he’d irritated her slightly, for her voice raised and her tone became different. he sighed softly, biting his lip and looking at her. ”you know i didn’t mean it like that” he murmured, looking at the floor again.
when she left the room, brett ran a hand through his hair and sighed. the afternoon probably hadn’t got to a good start, but they could cuddle up and watch the movie as always, right? yeah, he was sure they’d be past this little tiff by then. he was, inside, starting to feel bad about being harsh to her earlier, and he frowned at himself. he knew what angie was like, how she didn’t like help and didn’t like admitting pain. but then again, she knew what he was like. they were an odd match, the pair of them, but in some funny way, they matched perfectly. that made him smile, because he could totally see it. they disagree on a lot of things, but they always make it up in the end. and everything goes back to normal. that’s always the way it went with brett and angie. he heard her rousing around in the bathroom cupboard, hopefully looking for a disinfectant wipe or plaster or something. then he heard the tap running and bit his lip, wondering if he should go see if she was okay. he hoped he hadn’t upset her earlier. that would, as they say, add more salt to the wounds.
the tap stopped and angie soon returned, holding a bandage in her hand. when she asked him to bandage it for her, he smiled. that was the sort of angie he liked best, the one who didn’t downplay pain, the one who would rely on him when she needed to. of course, he liked every version of angie .. just this was his favorite. he saw her look at the cut and furrowed his brow, pushing himself up off the sofa. he walked over to her and softly took the bandage, no hint of a frown but neither a smile. he carefully took her hand and then the frown appeared as he looked at the cut. ”it’s pretty deep” he said, frowning more at the realization of his words. ”you sure you don’t want to go to the hospital?” he asked, though he knew what the answer would be. he carefully started to wrap the bandage around it, not waiting for an answer. halfway through, he said softly, looking up at her, ”i’m sorry for upsetting you earlier. it was mean of me” he frowned, an apologetic look in his eyes.

"it won't get infected. okay?" so she didn't know that. but she was doubting it would if she was careful. and even if she was a rather clumsy and unfortunate girl at times, she'd make sure to keep it from getting an infection. she knew when she was getting an infection in a cut, obviously. but she didn't like the thought of it. the cuts usually became more painful then. tearing away from her thoughts, she heard him say one last thing before she had went off to wash her hands. and she felt awful. it was easy for him to make her feel pretty awful, even if she didn't show it. and it was all because it came down to the fact that she loved him dearly and didn't want to hurt him.
how come when he had said he was sorry, it easily broke her heart? it had something to do with the fact it wasn't even his fault. but she knew what she had to do and let out a long sigh. "no. no. i was just agitated. i shouldn't have taken it out on you. i think it makes me the meaner one, right?" she chuckled, trying to improve the mood a little. movies wouldn't be that much fun to watch if there was any kind of tension floating about in the air, not that she paid much attention to them when he was around. "but i'm sure i don't want to. i'm pretty sure you'll keep me from passing out." a simple shrug of the shoulders. she was pretty sure that the last thing brett would allow her to do is actually pass out. he'd most likely see the warning signs before it would happen.
glancing down at her half-wrapped hand, she then looked up and swallowed hard, "thanks a lot, brett. i don't know what i'd do without you." a friendly smile showed on her pale face. it was amazing how she could so easily keep her skin tone despite living in california. but she wasn't really one to be in the sun all too much. could anyone even imagine a tan angie in the first place?
"are you going to finish wrapping that? or should i do it myself? because there's a movie waiting to be watched." angie nodded her head towards the half covered wound and grinned. everyone had to at least give her credit for trying to brush off the previous topics so that there wouldn't really be any awkward moments anytime soon.
[ i'm reallllly tired. so sorry if it's not up to par. ]

he bit his lip and frowned, but nodded anyway, not wanting to fight with her anymore then he already had that afternoon. he looked up and over at the clock quickly, realizing he’d only been here for about thirty minutes so far. the afternoon hadn’t even started, to them anyway, and they were already arguing like a married couple. it was silly, yes, and it was all brett’s fault that the argument had started. he knew that was true and he wasn’t about to deny it. but if they hadn’t had this argument, nothing to do with angie’s hand would have been achieved. and look what was being achieved? she was letting him help her. that was a big achievement, in angie’s world.
he did realize what he had been saying to her earlier was harsh, though, and that was why he had apologized. because, no matter how hurt angie is, he shouldn’t be mean to her. he knew how to treat girls, with respect and care, and he cared that extra bit more for angie. of course he did, anyone who knew him would tell you how much he loved her. he had only said those things because he loves her so much. but he realized she was going to be the angie he knew, and he had hurt her feelings. and that hurt him more than anything, because he shouldn’t have to be mean to her to get his point across. he would’ve just helped her anyway. why hadn’t he stuck to that plan? then no-one would be upset now.
then she explained herself to him and he quickly shook his head at her assessment, frowning. ”no, i shouldn’t have been mean to you in the first place. my original plan was to just help you anyway, and i should’ve stuck with it. we wouldn’t have had this argument otherwise” he said, quite quickly but slow enough for her to be able to pick out the words. he smiled softly at her, realizing the afternoon wouldn’t be a shambles after all. they’d had a little argument but they would make it up, and carry on as normal. then she said she was pretty sure he’d keep her from passing out, and at that, he snorted. ”pretty sure? you should be one hundred percent sure” he grinned briefly. there was no chance in hell he’d let her pass out on him.
he saw her look down at her hand and his lips pursued together, hoping she would look at the half covered bit and not the uncovered bit. then she thanked him and he smiled softly, this time the smile reaching his eyes. ”me either, angie” he agreed, the grin returning now as the mood lightened somewhat. ”but the same goes for me, you know,” he added after, still grinning, a warm look in his eyes. when she asked her next question and made a comment, his grin grew bigger, if that was even possible at the moment. ”no no let me finish. the movie can wait for two minutes” he replied, grinning at her before going back to wrapping her hand.

angie c r u z ,hypnotic, hypnotic you're leaving me breathless• • • š› • • • "don't blame yourself. really. you were doing what you should. and if you would have helped me without asking, it probably would have been worse." that was possibly true. she obviously couldn't really be too angry with him, and so if he were to try and help her without asking? she'd be stubborn at first, but give up rather easily. this was nothing new. she almost questioned if he would actually let her help him if he needed it. she'd probably just try and help him either way. sad, right? but she'd pretty much do anything in her will to help him. if he died, she'd probably be. well, she didn't even know. she'd probably go nuts if she wasn't killed first. he knew her well enough to know where she was safe ( nowhere, really. ) and how to keep her safe. angie was just the type who had to be watched with careful eyes. and there was barely anyone patient enough for that.
"alright. one hundred percent." she stated reassuringly. if he couldn't read the signs, they were both going to be in a bad place if she were to pass out. angie wasn't going to be willing to tell him when she felt a bit odd, because it would alarm him. and then there'd be extra attention on her that she wasn't looking for. it wasn't something she was looking for at all. why couldn't he have been the vulnerable one? that was something she wanted to know. "you know i trust you when it comes to me." she commented.
"i'd probably be in a lot of trouble if it weren't for you." she mused thoughtfully, grinning. it went right back to the point that he was the only guy that could pay attention to her. he was completely different than a lot of guys, not that she talked to them much. she was often one who kept to herself and only spoke when spoken to or when she felt the moment needed it. "good." that familiar smile was still on her face. she liked knowing that she was doing something for him and not wearing him down with her needing to be taken care of. but she wouldn't have thought any different. if he didn't want to be around her, she would believe he'd speak up. "that's a good choice. i'd probably mess it up by wrapping it myself." how would that go wrong? i really couldn't tell you. and angie couldn't either. but it was possible, as anything was.

brett listened to her first comment and tilted his head to the side slightly, shrugging. he agreed with her most definitely, but he didn’t want to upset her so he wouldn’t say anything. ”yeah, that’s probably true” he said after a moment, lifting his head slightly to grin at her innocently, before allowing his head to drop back down and concentrating on finishing her hand. he began to wonder if things would be different if they switched places. would angie want to help him, and would he let her help him? he probably wouldn’t, because he’s a boy, and boys are known for being tough and all that jazz. though if it would make her happy, he may let her help him just a tiny bit. a tiny, so small you wouldn’t even realize bit.
when she said she was one hundred percent sure, he chuckled slightly and shook his head, sighing quietly. he’d know when she was about to pass out anyway, and that was supposed to be a rhetorical question. because it wouldn’t matter if she knew for certain she wasn’t going to be passing out. brett would be watching her like a hawk anyway, especially to see if she was in pain. he’d spot the symptoms as soon as angie herself started spotting them, and they’d be straight down the doctors then, no questions asked. and he’d contact her parents, something angie would hate him forever for doing. but if it was one of them in danger, wouldn’t angie like to be contacted? it was exactly the same, just the other way around. but hopefully, it wasn’t going to come to that. then she said she trusted him when it came to her, and he smiled softly at her. ”i do know” he said softly, chuckling at himself quietly. he did know that, even if angie didn’t always show it or let him show it. he could be trusted with her more then she could be with herself.
then she said her next comment, which made brett snort as he looked up at her, almost finished with her hand by now. ”i don’t like to agree, but inside you know that i do” he replied, shaking his head as he rolled his eyes, stepping back from her hand as he finished wrapping it. ”there” he grinned, obviously pleased with his handiwork. he flipped her hand over gently, checking both sides were securely bandaged, even though only one side was the actual cut one. when he was satisfied, he dropped her hand gently, smiling softly. looking at her, he was kind of glad she didn’t talk to other guys. because he didn’t know where he’d be without angie today. she held him strong for the most part, and he didn’t even know why. he structured his day around her, and was always on top form for her, to make sure she was okay. he’d probably be lost if he lost her to some guy now. not that he was worried about that --angie didn’t speak to them much at all. but brett was very protective of her and the only reason that was because is he would growl at them if they dared come to close. well, not in the literal sense, but you get my drift.
he nodded at her comment about messing up the wrapping, shrugging his shoulders lightly. ”i don’t know how you could, but as it always is with you, everything is possible” he grinned cheekily at her, before taking her good hand and leading her to the sofa, pushing her onto it gently. ”what movie did you want to watch then?” he asked, walking over to the television and looking over the dvd’s again. sure, it was her house, but she was injured and so brett was taking control today.
